Big News!

It's official! Baby M is in the making!

Dan and I are pregnant! Little buddy is due September 21st, which puts me at just about 15 weeks. We are very excited and can't wait to meet him/her! We can, however, wait to find out if it's a boy or girl... at least I can. Dan's pretty sure he's going to crack under pressure and ask at the next ultrasound.

This ultrasound was early, and we weren't even supposed to get one until 20 weeks. But... I had some bleeding on Saturday night. Let me tell you - after finding out you're pregnant, the last thing you want to see is blood. So as much fun as this weekend was, waiting until Monday for the ultrasound and running through all the possibilities, I'd rather not have to go through that ever again! Turns out that mommy and baby are healthy, just an isolated incident and neither my doctor nor the ultrasound doctor could see anything that would indicate anything was wrong, thankfully!

Now, it's back to getting Maddie ready for the baby and getting ourselves and the house ready, too! Good thing we refinished those floors last summer!

Still to come - Thanksgiving and tree cutting... Christmas, here we come!!

Halloween 2010

Since I'm basically just bulk posting, here are the pictures from Halloween. There's no real story here, just office Halloween contest, pumpkin picking with Maddie, pumpkin carving, and Halloween with the kids! Enjoy!

Our new best friend...

Maddie!
On October 9th, 2010 (the weekend after Martha's Vineyard), Dan and I adopted a 3.5 month old beagle/rat terrier puppy named China. Since we agreed that China was a silly name for a puppy, we picked Maddie to be her new name! Without further adieu, here are some pics from the last month and a half!

Martha's Vineyard

This was our little vacation to ourselves. Dan and I booked this shortly after we moved into our house, when we knew we would need a few days of just us. A few days to kick back, relax, catch up on sleep and not worry about what needed to get done or where we had to be. I have a hard time relaxing at home. Even when I manage to sit for a bit at night, I'm always thinking about what needs to be done. So this was our housewarming gift to ourselves. And, let me tell you, highly recommended. We had never been to The Vineyard, but we will definitely try to get back. It is beautiful.

The view from the ferry out on Friday... a little foggy to say the least.

The view from our room on Saturday morning... quite the opposite of Friday.

The resort from the sign below. Our room was in that part in the middle, if I remember correctly.

The resort from the beach.

The path.

Blue crab in the creek along the beach path.

Getting ready for our bike ride on Sunday.

State beach, a.k.a. the beach where Jaws was filmed.

Ginger bread houses in Oak Bluffs (the destination of the 9 mile bike ride).

Wind surfers in the bay - perfect day for it!
(a.k.a. the bay that Jaws swam under the bridge into.
Seriously, that's how the locals explained the landmarks,
according to the Jaws movie)
